CLAT

Common Law Entrance exam is very common among the youth of India. In past years, it has gained a great hike in terms of entrance exams. Before CLAT, competitive exams like AIEEE, IIT-JEE and PMT were only famous in India. Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is conducted at 14 law universities for admission in undergraduates (LLB) or Postgraduate courses (LLM).

Students carrying 45% marks in 12th class are eligible to give this law entrance exam. This test is not limited to a particular steam. Students of all the streams can give this exam. The age of the candidates should not be more than 20 years. A test of English, General studies and aptitude is taken and there is a negative marking for wrong answers.

All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is conducted by National Law University of Delhi. Students can take admission in B.A.LL.B or other post graduate courses. There are total 81 seats for which NLU Delhi conducts this test.

Student’s ability in reasoning, Numerical questions, legal aptitude, English grammar and General studies will be test in this exam. The duration for the test is of 1 and half hours and there will be total 150 questions that need to be solved within the time limit.

LSAT

There are few colleges like Amity, UPES Dehradun, ITM Gurgoan, IIT Kharagpur and others that conduct Law School Admission Test (LSAT) for admission in various law programs.

Students should have scored 50% marks in 12th class in any stream. There will be four 35 minutes sections of multiple choice questions. These sections will be of reading comprehensions, logical reasoning and analytical reasoning. There are total 92 to 100 questions in the exam. The registration fee for LSAT is 3800rs. The test duration is 2 hours 20 minutes.

SET

SET is a common entrance test to take admission in various courses after 12th class. The Law school of Symbiosis takes SET for admission to undergraduate programs of law. One can apply online for SET.

Students carrying 50% marks in 12th class of any stream are eligible for this test. After SET exam, students need to qualify Group discussion (GD) round and personal interview round too. The written test will be of five sections carrying 30 marks and 30 questions each. These sections will be of logical reasoning, legal, analytical reasoning, reading comprehension and general studies. The test duration is of 150 minutes.
